neck & shoulder pain
physio for desk-based workers
sound familiar?
tight shoulders by 2pm. a neck that clicks & clunks when you check your blind spot. tension headaches that build through the afternoon & don't fully go by morning
if your days are mostly spent at a screen, this is common, but it’s not something you need to just put up with
why does it happen?
our bodies need movement & don’t love being still for prolonged periods of time. unfortunately this isn’t always conducive to a productive 9-5. add stress into the picture & you’ve got a recipe for stiff & tight muscles - but it doesn’t have to be that way
your first appointment
get to know you - a conversation to understand you & your days: desk setup, hours, movement, sleep, stress, & what you're hoping changes
movement assessment - how your neck, shoulders & upper back are actually moving, & what's contributing to your symptoms
a plan we build together - clear, in plain language, built around your week. no fixed protocol, no guesswork, no generic sheet of stretches
why this approach works
desk-related tension is rarely one thing. usually it's a mix of load, movement patterns & habits that have built up over time - which is why treating only the sore spot rarely holds
I look at the full picture - your work, your life outside it, what's realistic for you - not a one size fits all program. it's a two way conversation the whole way through, & if something isn't working for your life, we adjust it
from here
most people start with an initial consult, then follow-ups as your plan adjusts. some add exercise programming once the initial tension's settled, to build longer term resilience against the load your day puts on you
you're in the drivers seat - I'm here to guide along the way
a couple of things people ask
is this just something I have to live with because of my job?
no - your job might be a contributing factor, but it's not the whole picture, & there's usually more that can shift than people expect
do I need a referral?
no referral needed to book in
